St. Patrick’s Day

What began as a religious feast day for the patron saint of Ireland has evolved into an international festival celebrating Irish culture with parades, dancing, special foods and lots and lots of green. Did you know that the tradition of St. Patrick’s Day parades actually started in the United States, not Ireland? According to History.com, the tradition started after the great potato famine of the 1840s sent hundreds of thousands of Irish immigrants pouring into New York, Boston and other American cities. Do you attend any St. Patrick’s Day parades?

If a parade isn’t taking place near you, throw your own party! With a few quick projects and treats, you can host your very own Irish celebration! Pick up some green plates, napkins and bowls for your snacks. Don’t forget the green mugs to keep your beverages frosty!

St. Pat's Cupcake

While everyone should definitely be wearing green somehow, green teeth are not recommended. Use vanilla frosting with green sugar sprinkles and fun St. Patrick’s Day cupcake toppers for these bite size treats!

Lucky Drinks

How fun are these drinks? Pretty up plain milk jars with a little scrapbook paper, ribbon, a cupcake topper and striped paper straw!

Kiss Me Frame

Just a wee bit of decoration is all you need to set a lighthearted mood for your Luck O’ the Irish get-together. This pot of shamrocks comes pre-made and the Kiss Me I’m Irish Frame comes together with a simple frame, black scrapbook paper and a gold Sharpie®.
