Unique Christmas Wrapping Ideas

You know when the packaging is prettier than what’s inside?

Pretty PackagesOh! How I LOVE the trendy “Old-Fashioned Christmas” way of wrapping gifts… I’ve gathered some of my favorite Christmas Wrapping ideas to share with you!

I personally just adore the rustic look of this style and the raw and natural materials remind me of my youth on the farm. We used to cut our own Christmas tree in the woods and make a trail of fir branches and pine needles in the snow. As kids, we collected pine cones and sprayed them with gold paint to make beautiful garlands along with popcorn and cranberries.

Kraft paper wrapping has been my favorite forever. Newspapers or brown paper bags also give the same feel.

Christmas Wrapping

I sometimes add little doodles, stamped designs or splashes of paint like on this tiny gift.

Burlap, which is really all the rage this year, now comes in nice ribbon rolls, so it’s very easy to use. However, if you find it is difficult to tie or glue on a package, my trick is to staple the burlap ribbon right on the box or the paper bag!

To tie it all together, I use strings of all sorts: baker’s twine, raffia, jute or hemp twines, wool and pompoms – anything with a natural feel! Whether it is by adding a piece of lace, doily, or ribbon, a touch of white mixes beautifully with the natural earth tones of Kraft paper…

Ornaments you give could have a double use: the person who receives them can hang them in her tree – or reuse them next year on your gift!!

scrapbook wrapDo you already have at home a collection of scrapbooking papers? Use them to wrap small gifts or make beautiful labels by hand! A little ink rubbed on the outside of the package will add dimension and a vintage look to your unique packaging! How lovely, you can also make a matching envelope by using the Envelope Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers!

Have fun this Christmas wrapping your gifts in a creative way that your friends and family are sure to appreciate!

Happy Holidays from Quebec, Canada!
