A handmade card from Tim Holtz

Who doesn’t love to receive a handmade card in the mail. These quick and easy cards are sure to impress your friends and family. Gather your favorite supplies, Stamps, Distress Markers and Ink, Mirrored Stars, Word Keys, Linen Ribbon, Rub ons and sit down to create some beautiful but simple cards.

Stamping with Archival Ink and Coloring with Distress Markers

Stamp Blueprint images onto watercolor paper with Jet Black Archival Ink. Color the images with your favorite colors of Distress Markers.

Blending with a Detail Water Brush and Distressing the edges

Using a Detail Water Brush blend the colors out to create a watercolor effect. Trim the images to size. Ink the edges with Distress Ink on an Ink Blending Tool. Use a circular motion with light pressure and create a darkened edge around the images.

Distress Technique using Hand Sander and Distress Ink

Cut a card base from Kraft-core cardstock. Score and fold in half. Cut a mat a little larger then the colored images. Cut a piece of Crowded Attic Paper Stash for the background of the card. Ink the edges with Distress Ink on an Ink Blending Tool to create a darkened edge.

Adding pieces to base card with foam tape

Adhere pieces to base card. Use foam tape to adhere images to card. Foam tape is a great way to add interest to your card.

Adding rub-on and key embellishment

Add Remnant Rubs “Life Quotes” as desired. Tie Linen Ribbon around card attaching the Word Key with a bow.

The perfect finished card!

Easy as 1..2..3… and just think how happy someone will be to receive a beautiful handmade card. I call that happy mail!
