The 4th of July is easily one of my favorite holidays. Sun, swimming, BBQs, fireworks and celebrating our nation’s independence. What more could you want? I love that nostalgic feeling I get when driving down a street lined with little American flags. There’s just something that makes me so proud.
This Patriotic Ribbon Wreath is a fun and unique way to show your pride for Independence Day. Let’s get crafty!
Here’s what you’ll need to get started:
- Celebrate It® 360°™ Grosgrain Ribbon, Royal Blue
- Celebrate It® 360°™ Grosgrain Ribbon, Red & White Stripes
- Wood Stars
- ArtMinds® Mini Dual Temp Glue Gun
- Craft Smart® Flat Variety Brush Set Golden Taklon, 7 Pc
- ArtMinds® Mini All Temp Glue Sticks
- Extruded Foam Floral Wreath, Green
- Craft Smart™ Yarn, Solid
- Martha Stewart Crafts® Multi-Surface Satin Acrylic Craft Paint
Step 1: Wrap Wreath with Ribbon
Wrap the wreath with red and white stripes. Pull the ribbon tightly as you wrap. Save a few inches of this ribbon to create the bunting in the middle later. Use hot glue to secure the ends. Next, wrap 1/3 of the wreath with the blue ribbon and secure with hot glue.
2. Add Stars
Paint wood stars with white paint. Set aside to dry. Once they are completely dry, attached them to the blue ribbon, using hot glue.
3. Create a Bunting
First, cut a 15″ piece of white yarn. Then cut a small piece of red and white striped ribbon. Fold it over the center of the white yarn. Use hot glue to secure. Cut two small pieces of blue ribbon. Fold one either side of red and white striped ribbon and hot glue. Trim into flag shapes to complete the bunting.
4. Hang the Bunting in the Wreath
String the white yarn bunting across the center of the wreath and secure in the back with hot glue. Trim the ends.
Now you can create a hanger our of ribbon and attach it to the top and your wreath is ready for display. What a patriotic way to show your pride!
