Michaels Makers July Challenge: Raw Bar

3 Y ears ago by

Our Michaels Makers were given an extra special challenge this month. Michaels has been working on a new line of products called Raw Bar – created for customers looking for raw, unfinished surfaces that are easily craft-able. The brand new Raw Bar line is a whole series of products inspired by nature. Some of the surfaces and textures you will see include burlap, cork, chalk board, wood, galvanized metal and canvas. We’re pretty excited to see what all of our customers create with the products, so what did we do? – Gave the Michaels Makers a sneak peak of the line! A package filled with Michaels’ new Raw Bar product line arrived on their doorstep with endless possibilities.

The package had the following Raw Bar items: a galvanized metal bin with chalk board front, burlap canvas, cork ribbon, burlap bag, chalk board sign, cork letters, wooden spools and clothespins.

Check out all of the fun crafts these ladies came up with!

Raw BarThe Raw Bar line will be available at all Michaels locations on August 8. Tell us which Raw Bar item you can’t wait to use!

oH MY gosh I have seen tons of things to do on pinterest. My two favorites though are.
      1. Get a yard stick and hot glue on a row of corks and use it as a cork strip. simple and quick. And we carry yard sticks at Michaels.
      2. Get an old ornate frame or get one of those cute unfinished ornate wood frames from michaels and get a foam core backing and fill in the entire inner portion of the frame with corks by gluing them to the foam core. Makes a super cute cork board. I suggest cutting the cork in half lentgh wise them gluing.
