A beautiful (and fun) Easter basket is easy to make for your little bunnies! The options are endless, but don’t be intimidated. We’ve got a few tips to help you build the ultimate Easter basket!

1. Select a Basket

All Baskets - All Baskets

Michaels has baskets in all sizes, colors and shapes. Choose from the conventional woven, wire and wicker Easter baskets for a classic feel or opt for to out of the basket ideas like sand pails which you can reuse for summer fun. You’re sure to find one that is the perfect size to fit all the goodies you can stuff inside.

2. Add Grass & Eggs

Easter grass shreds come in cellophane or paper versions and just about every color you can dream. Grab a couple of bags to make sure you have enough cushion for your stuffers!

Plastic eggs are an essential addition that no basket is complete without. It’s easy to create an Easter basket theme with a wide variety of plastic eggs come in a variety that vary in colors, shapes and sizes. Fill them with tiny trinkets, treats, or even something as fun and wacky as SLIME!

Make it fun and customize your eggs by dressing them up with markers and chenille stems or even stickers to spell out fun sayings. You can make these bunny emoji eggs or buzz word eggs with your kids in under 30 minutes!

3. Basket Stuffers

Next in line of importance (second to candy, right?) are basket stuffers. There are SO many fun options. Make it simple by selecting a color or theme, like “dress up” play or planes, trains & automobiles!

Classic Crayola®, Play-Doh® and Morph are the best gifts to give because they foster creative & imaginative play which in turn helps to develop cognitive skills through active discovery. To see how the shape shifting fluff called Morph can build, bounce and float check out this video. Creative gifts are the ones that keep on giving!

4. Personalize it

Add personal finishing touches like coordinating ribbon, flowers, pompoms or even a tulle tutu fit for a princess. A handmade touch makes it even more special.

Don’t forget the candy – but make sure you get allergy free chocolate. Check the labels to make sure they are made in nut free facilities to avoid health problems. Most people take the candy out of the bag, place it in the basket, and parents have no clue if it’s allergy safe with no label to fall back on to read. Be safe this Easter season!
